I doubt anyone cares but if you stop by and say "Hey, what happened to your Xbox Live Gamertag in the sidebar" there's no reason to be alarmed. Microsoft is doing some back-end work on Xbox Live, so it's down today. It was an announced outage (twice by XBL, three times if they think you're a "Zune customer") so no worries. It'll be back later today or tomorrow.
